Brand New...?

So we left 2009 twelve months ago!! To be honest, I didn't think this blog was heading in the right direction. It seemed a bit confused on its focus, so I tried to avoid it! Whenever, I feel like something isn't right; I tend to think a lot, and think negatively. I wonder...how did I end up here? What changed and influenced me? We change gradually, maybe for the better, but sometimes for the worse...but it's up to us to take control and WANT to change for things to progress well.

Happy New Year! So when people actually say this; do they believe in them three words they shout out when the clock hits 12, when they pop open that bottle of champagne, when they continue dancing in the club, when they're kissing their loved ones, when they're watching the fireworks with fascination...is it actually a HAPPY...NEW...YEAR...?
I mean what does 'happy new year' mean anyway? People must know what it means, you say it every year!! Are you happy that the new year is here, in this instance 2011? Is the year actually gonna be a new one? Are you going to get rid of what's old? I mean psh..there is a WHOLE lotta old things you could get rid off, after all a year is a long time...8760 hours..365 days..52 weeks..yeahh that's a lot of bin bags! But when certain people say happy new year, they forget to take out the trash! It's still in their hands as they walk back into their homes, and dump it somewhere in the corner, where the stench of old can now marinate! That same familiar smell is following you into the so-called new year...

HAPPY: satisfied, blessed,

NEW: advanced, different, spick-and-span, inexperienced, untouched, fresh, uncontaminated, brand new, unused, unspoiled, ...

YEAR: the period of time that it takes for a planet (as, e.g., Earth or Mars) to make a complete revolution around the sun.

So to pick out some keywords, the 'Happy New Year', should be a satisfied inexperienced and advanced period of time. With those smelly bin bags you've carried for 365 days, you're not likely to get this, unless you dash 'em! If you don't mean those three meaningful words, what exactly are you celebrating in Trafalgar Square with fireworks? Why are you opening a bottle of champagne? Why exactly are you screaming 'Happy New Year'? Doesn't make sense does it...Makes you think...Am I a new person yet? Am I ready for the new untouched year? Like a pastor once said 'We need a make over not make up! You're simply trying to hide all those blemishes, thinking you're a complete new person, but at the end of the day, that make up comes off; it isn't permanent and those blemishes begin to come back like a bad habit. With a make-over, you're completely transformed permanently. A new beginning, a new start. If you know you're willing to start afresh, not just by word of mouth, but by actions too, then you're on the route of being able to shout HAPPY NEW YEAR! Get rid of those dirty bin bags, get rid of those blemishes, get rid of that cheap make up you'll be doing yourself a favour. You'll find you feel much better; you're a new person and you will feel that you have achieved something for yourself and others too. Be a good example on to others and show them that the words HAPPY..NEW..YEAR actually has meaning to it. Think about it, because we're almost heading into 2011...Wow.
